In the last two years, Apple has hosted its revealing events entirely online. The Company’s World Development Conference (WWDC) has not been different and there was a question about whether the show would come back to a format in person for 2022, it seems that we should expect at least one other year for that. Apple today announced the dates of the WWDC 2022, confirming again that it will be an online event only.
The company also detailed some of the things we can hope to see at the show, although of course, it did not reveal everything today. Apple keeps sensitive stuff under the wraps, but we can look in the past of the WWDC to make some educated assumptions about what will be revealed. Regular consumers can hope for a lot of software discussions with perhaps surprising hardware reveals at the main note, while developers and students are in a more intensive calendar involving learning laboratories and “sessions of information”.
WWDC 2022: What to expect
While Apple’s blog announcing the WWDC 2022 was light enough on the details and focused more on developer development projects to offer during the four-day event, the company has shown its hand a little by saying that WWDC22 will include details on the most recent iOS, iPados, MacOS, Watchos and TVS Innovations.
This is not a surprise because Apple has often used WWDC keys to reveal new versions of all these operating systems in the past. We can expect iOS 16 and its new features to be one of the biggest revelations, although Apple probably spends a lot of time talking about new updates of other operating systems, especially macos and Watches.
Will there be material? It is all the world – Apple has generally focused more on software at the WWDC, but it revealed its internal silicon transition to the WWDC 2020. If Apple plans to reveal the M2 processor and the devices it will allocate this year. , such a revelation could arrive at WWDC 2022 (although it is certainly unlikely).
Beyond our speculation, however, Apple confirmed that WWDC 2022 will include both a main note and a new Apple state of the union address, so we certainly know that we can expect them. Apple will also host another SWIFT student challenge, however to participate, students must build an application project in Swift Playgrounds and submit it before April 25. More details on this topic are available on the Apple Developer website, but otherwise, search for WWDC 2022 launched on June 6th.
